Message to Staff: INA Strike Update, RNs Expected to Return to Work Monday, Aug. 26
Dear UI Health—
On Monday, Aug. 26, registered nurses (RNs) represented by the Illinois Nurses Association (INA) are expected to return to work following a seven-day strike.
Although we have continued negotiations, we have yet to reach an agreement with the INA. Negotiations continued Wednesday, Aug. 21, and are scheduled Monday, Aug. 26, and Wednesday, Aug. 28. UI Health will continue good faith bargaining for as long as it takes to reach successful agreements.
UI Health values the critical role nurses and other healthcare professionals play in providing our patients with exceptional care, outcomes, and experiences. We are glad to welcome back our LPN colleagues.
We would like to express our gratitude to all UI Health providers, staff, and security personnel for the tremendous efforts to ensure that we continue to provide quality care and maintain safety on our campus throughout the work stoppage and Democratic National Convention activities this past week.
For more information on our negotiations, please visit the UI Health–INA Negotiation intranet tile and the UI Health Workforce site.
Sincerely,
Incident Command Management
