INA strike effective Wed., Nov. 13 at 7 a.m.

Dear UI Health—

Effective Wed., Nov. 13, at 7 a.m., registered nurses represented by the Illinois Nurses Association (INA) have decided to go on strike for an undetermined period.

We are disappointed that despite progress in negotiations, we have not yet reached an agreement. UI Health will continue to bargain in good faith to reach a fair and mutually acceptable agreement.

Patient care is our primary responsibility. We have secured agency nursing staff to ensure we maintain the highest level of safety and care for our patients and the efficiency of our facilities and operations. We have comprehensive plans in place to anticipate, respond to and mitigate any staffing disruptions that may occur over the coming weeks. We are committed to taking all measures to ensure the safe care of our patients, and we are regularly reassessing the situation.

For more information on our negotiations and the work stoppage, please visit the UI Health–INA Negotiation intranet tile and the UI Health Workforce site.

Sincerely,

Hospital & Clinics Leadership
