Update: Session 44

Negotiations resumed on a successor contract for the INA RN collective bargaining agreement. The parties met in person without the mediator.

The joint session began with UIC's and INA's lead negotiators discussing options to settle the contract. INA presented counters on staffing, health and safety, and on-call wages and assignments. The parties then returned to their caucus.

When they reconvened, both sides continued discussing proposals aimed at avoiding a work stoppage. They reviewed key issues such as staffing levels, floating practices, wages, bilingual reimbursement, nursing care committee, workday, and certification bonuses.

The parties also coordinated for the next bargaining session, discussed availability concerns, including weekend shifts, and returned to their caucus. The parties agreed to continue discussing staffing, wages, and benefits, and will reconvene for the next bargaining session.
