Update: Session 39
Negotiations resumed on a successor contract for the INA RN collective bargaining agreement. The parties met in person with the mediator.
The joint session began with both parties discussing scheduling additional sessions in the upcoming weeks. Then, the INA presented their counters to on-call wages and on-call assignments. They also tentatively agreed to UIC's counters related to schedules, sick leave, and sick time abuse. UIC's lead negotiator presented their counters related to vacation availability, workweek, staffing, staff development artificial intelligence, non-nursing duties, safe patient limits, pandemic disaster, and the nursing care committee. The parties returned to their caucus.
Upon returning to the bargaining table, the INA presented their counter to health and safety, workweek, and nursing care committee. Then, they said they were ready to tentatively agree to UIC's counter related to schedules. Then, UIC's lead negotiator presented their counters related to the effective date of wages, float differential, wage scales, on-call wages, grievances, and in house registry.
The parties coordinated for the next bargaining session and returned to their caucus.
