Update: Session 33
Negotiations resumed on a successor contract for the INA RN collective bargaining agreement. The parties met in person with the mediator present.
The joint session began with a discussion related to the acuity tool. UIC's lead negotiator invited Joel Ceisel, hospital operations specialist, to help answer some of the INA's questions regarding certain processes, how assignment assessments (IARs) are reported and how that data is assessed. After the discussion the parties returned to their caucus.
Back in joint session, UIC's lead negotiator presented their counter to INA's proposal related to pandemic disasters. The INA then presented their counters related to staffing, bilingual differential, vacation availability, education and professional development, health and safety, schedule, nursing care committee, staff development, and the acuity tool. The parties coordinated for the next bargaining session and returned to their caucus.
