Update: Session 31

Negotiations resumed on a successor contract for the INA RN collective bargaining agreement. The parties met in person with the mediator present.

The joint session began with a discussion about acuity plus. UIC invited Lisa Potts, associate chief nursing officer, to respond to questions the INA bargaining team had related to the new acuity tool that is being implemented at UI Health. UIC's lead negotiator sent the union a tentative agreement related to low-census day. Then they presented their counters related to shift and sick benefit abuse. The INA presented their counter related to schedule. The parties then returned to caucus.

Back in joint session, the INA presented their counters related to sick benefit abuse, shift, weekend differential and their tentative agreement to call back wages. UIC's lead negotiator presented their counters to overtime wages, on call wages, Paid Leave for All Workers Act waiver, on call assignments, bilingual bonus, staff development, float team, and pulling/floating to other units. The parties coordinated for the next bargaining session and returned to their caucus.
