Update: Session 3
Negotiations resumed on a successor contract for the INA RN collective bargaining agreement. The parties met in person on July 1, 2024, for a full-day in-person session.
The meeting began with the INA introducing two counters related to Health Utilization Review Coordinators and Association Activity and two new proposals for the University to consider related to the Nursing Care Committee and Performance Appraisals. Upon receipt of the proposals, UIC then presented their counters related to Holidays and Remote Work.
The parties moved to caucus and upon return caucus the Union presented a counter proposal related to Holidays, as well as two new proposals related to Staffing and Work Week. UIC presented counters related to Sick Leave, Low Census Day, and Disciplinary Procedures.
In summary, INA passed a total of 4 new proposals on this bargaining session and UIC passed seven counter proposals. There was a brief discussion related to the upcoming negotiation session on July 2, 2024, about the start time.
