Update: Session 26
Negotiations resumed on a successor contract for the INA RN collective bargaining agreement. The parties met virtually with the mediator present.
The joint session began with UIC presenting their counters related to union activity, information, on call, call back, shift differential, preceptor differential, charge differential, nursing care committee, health and safety. Then UIC rejected the INA’s counter proposals related to overtime differential, weekend differential, non-nursing duties, performance appraisals, scrubs, notification to union, and safe patient limits. The INA asked questions, then proceeded to present their counters related to float team, schedule, workday, shift, additional work and OT assignments, in-house registry, and the removal of a side letter. The parties returned to their caucus.
Back in joint session, UIC rejected two of INA’s proposals related to certification bonuses and workday. The INA presented their counters to scrubs, notification to union, shift differential, preceptor differential, and weekend differential. The parties coordinated for the next bargaining session.
