Update: Session 21
Negotiations resumed on a successor contract for the INA RN collective bargaining agreement. The parties met virtually with the mediator present.
The session began in caucus, when the joint session began, the Health Care Utilization Review Coordinators II (HURCs) group joined the parties, along with members of leadership, to review roles of the HURCs. After a productive discussion, UIC’s lead negotiator thanked them for their time and presentation, then, presented a tentative agreement to one of INAs proposals related to remote work. The parties returned to their caucus.
Upon return to the bargaining table, the INA presented their counters related to equal opportunity, information, bargaining unit negotiations team, vacation availability, governance of sick leave, abuse of sick benefit, schedule, security, scrub uniform, and grievances. UIC’s lead negotiator asked clarifying questions to newly proposed language. Then, UIC’s lead negotiator countered INA’s proposals related to additional work and overtime assignments, low census, and automated technology. Then UIC’s lead negotiator had a new proposal related to flex team. The parties discussed future dates for negotiations and concluded for the day.
