UI Health and the INA met for a full day of bargaining; FMCS mediators Kevin Farrell and Richard Murphy were present. This was the first session after the INA served a ten-day notice announcing an intent to strike on September 12. The INA provided counterproposals to UI Health’s float track and scheduling packages; essentially rejecting the proposals. UI Health ended the day by providing the INA with a list of contract improvements to which UI Health has indicated a willingness to agree but as to which the INA is so far unwilling to sign tentative agreements. Further bargaining sessions continue to be scheduled for every Wednesday and Thursday, but UI Heath has informed the INA that the University is willing to meet whenever the INA wants and for as long as the INA wants.
