Update: Session 14
Negotiations resumed on a successor contract for the INA RN collective bargaining agreement. The parties met in person on August 7, 2024.
The INA bargaining team presented two counters related to governance of sick leave and maintaining budgeted positions. There was a robust discussion concerning both proposals, with both the INA and UIC providing information to support their positions. Prior to going to caucus UIC inquired as to the INA’s availability to meet for additional sessions in the following week to ensure the continuation of bargaining. After a brief discussion the parties then returned to their caucus.
Upon return from caucus the INA shared their availability for the following week; two additional dates were added to next week – Aug. 15 and Aug. 16. The INA re-presented the remote work proposal; presented a counterproposal related to discipline; and offered a tentative agreement for article 16 related to health care utilization review coordinators. UIC presented a counter to INA’s proposal related to the flexible schedule program.
