Update: Session 10

Negotiations resumed on a successor contract for the INA RN collective bargaining agreement. The parties met in person on July 29, 2024.

Upon return from caucus the INA presented proposals related to Acuity Plus and the Staffing related to Acuity, and the other related to the use of personal protective equipment. Additional proposals related to the bargaining unit negotiations team, vacation availability, notification to union, purpose and definition of shift patterns were also presented. The INA countered UIC's proposal on association activity. UIC's lead negotiator asked clarifying questions to further understand nurses' concerns and the changes the INA was proposing.

UIC responded with counter proposals related to infectious disease and pandemic disasters, and the float team. UIC then presented new proposals related to the removal of side letters concerning ambulatory orientation, charge nurse, joint task force, safe staffing, and scheduling systems. UIC listened to the INA's feedback, responded to their questions, and clarified any confusion of the proposed language, after which the parties went into caucus.
