Update: Session 1
Negotiations begin on a successor contract for the INA RN collective bargaining agreement. The parties met in person on June 18, 2024, for a full-day session. The meeting commenced with an introduction of the bargaining teams representing the University and the INA. The University and the INA indicated a shared commitment to working together to reach a mutually beneficial agreement. The INA introduced five proposals for the University to consider. Upon the receipt of the proposals, the parties moved to caucus. The parties returned at approximately 2:30 p.m., at which time the University reviewed their responses and passed one tentative agreement related to the Preamble, and noted that they were taking other proposals under advisement. There was a brief discussion about upcoming negotiation sessions, after which the INA presented and explained three additional proposals. After the University asked clarifying questions, the parties moved to a second caucus. Upon return from caucus, the University passed two tentative agreements related to identification badges and labor management conferences. The parties also discussed logistics for future negotiation sessions.
